First run back

I just returned on Friday from the Rocky Mountain National Park. I now know why athletes train at altitude because it really shocks your system. We hiked about 45 miles in six days including the Longs Peak hike of just under 16 in one day! That was an amazing hike and really pushed my limits. I will probably refer to that day for some time to come when I think that I cannot go on. Because I can.

I started a 5k training session on Nike+ and today was told by the automated coach to run two miles. I am using the Nike+ program on my iPhone 3Gs and also attempted to use RunKeeper Pro at the same time. It actually works just so you know. With Nike+ you will see some of the beginning as well as the cool down walking involved in these exercises. For example today's run:

RunKeeper will only be the running but will show the route because it is a GPS based program:

My chest felt a little more pressure than I would like but it is the first serious run the since hiking trip. Overall, not too bad. Next run... Thursday.
